Hi,
I upgraded to the new beta, but now XBMC can't access the video database (xbmc.log says "can't connect to mysql server on ..."). I didn't change anything.
MySQL still works, because the xbmc on my mac can still connects to the database of the PI.

Any ideas?

please use official Beta 1 thread as mentioned. No need to open a new thread for it.
