I can see the video and it's in synch with audio, but I can see frame drops.

Plus I got another problem on some other videos I used to watch on alpha 5.
When I try to play them my TV goes off telling me that the selected resolution is not supported.
I have a full hd samsung screen. I checked in the log and it seems that it tries to play the video 1920x1080 @ 100.00i.
I remember that in alpha 5 it plays 1920x1080 @ 50. Is this a setting I can change or do I have to go back to alpha 5 to watch my videos?
The log: http://pastebin.com/dvK4b0wn

Add this to /boot/cmdline.txt and reboot.

hdmi_mode=31 hdmi_group=1

just for me to know, all hdmi end devices share the same mode codes for the same modes?

it's 31 as well with my samsung, then 16 for the same resolution but 60hz.

codes are same as it is for RPi and not fot TV or any other HDMI device.so by adding the lines you just force the resolution for HDMI out no matter to what is it plugged to

What is the proper fix? I don't have an hdmi device currently.

not sure what you mean???
If the device doesnt work properly,means if is not correctly detected by CEC, than the best way to find the right settings in manufacturer instruction an add the corresponding resolution in list from RPi_Config web.than just add the lines and you good to go Wink
If the CEC doesnt work properly, than this is usually because lack of support in libcec. This is still and constant development and guys from Pulse-eight working hard
Ok then I posted the proper fix, I didn't want to give any misinformation out. Cool
