Is it possible to somehow forward a VLC stream to the raspberry pi?

To avoid misunderstandings i'll try to be more precise.

I use VLC with Acestream to watch i.e. a soccer match on my desktop computer. can i somehow forward the stream to my raspberry so that i can watch it on my tv? (without connecting the desktop computer directly to my tv of course...)
yes you can do something like this.
Actually you can send/open direct stream link. Only thing is I dont remember straight away how Smile
I will will look into it and in a meantime you can search XBMC Wiki and forum

very easily. just use event notify to ip xbian and port 9777 and action "play(whatever)"

whatever can be local file / folder, playlist, link to http, anything.

the way I was referring to, is more like one time set and than just ready to use.So you add the streams under the Video and than there is no need for PC or anything.just "click and play" Wink
