So I've been searching for ways to get my media library to work here. I've tried so many versions of xbmc. I have issues because I'm on widows 8 pro, and only have smb sharing to my knowledge. Even used Plex, but that took forever to play a video. so I'm trying out xbian, and I'm running into an issue with WiFi. My wipi dongle worked on all other versions, but here, I go into xbian settings, and I try to select an ssid, but nothing shows. A window never even pops up. Ethernet works fine though. I'm at a loss here.
Scratch that, a window does come up, it says its scanning, but after that nothing comes up.
Can you log into ssh and post output of this command?

default login "xbian" and password "raspberry". after you get command prompt, just copy & paste the command I sent you.
Thank you for you help, but through Putty, I found options for settings. I managed to get the Wifi setup working in there. I also found Plex Media Server to share my files via uPnP, and it works wonders better. It's not perfect on the 1080p DTS files, but the rest are flawless. Currently working on the buffer size to fix the DTS files.

I think you are stuck on 1080p DTS files. Don't bother trying to adjust the buffers it makes no difference - IMHO. Beta 1.2 can handle 1080p DTS but at a stretch. Your best option is to convert them to AC3 if you TV can decode that or downgrade them to 720p.
Also to use Wifi for 1080P is optimistic.
