Which all relate to the WD

These could be due to a suspect hub. Do you have a spare that you could try?

What is the amperage of your RPi power supply?

You could try removing the HUB and plugging your KB and WD directly into the RPi – it might work just for testing.

I can purchase another hub and see if that changes anything. The hub I'm using now is brand new.

The amperage of the RPi is 1.

Will there be enough power from the pi to support the WD?
at least to see one attempt to mount
I have no idea, but it will eliminate or confirm my prognosis.

In my Beta2 all drives - no matter what they are mount perfectly.

What was the outcome of:You could try removing the HUB and plugging your KB and WD directly into the RPi – it might work just for testing.
