This is something I noticed the other night. I went through and deleted all files in all directories besides the video files. So, I Deleted all fanart.jpg, folder.jpg, show.nfo, etc....
After that I cleaned the library and rescanned everything. After this, I see some shows seemed to have some built in fanart. For a couple shows, the images are corrupted and I'm not sure why.
These display with multicolor lines through them. Some shows seem to have also found their own fanart and they display correctly. How and where is XBMC getting this fanart from if I deleted all the files and cleaned the library?
here's some pics.

This looks like a typical database corruption - a non sympathetic removal of files that have links to other folders.

Your best bet is to restore to a backup (Beta 2 has wonderful backup and restore facilities for this sort of issue)

Failure to have a backup, your best bet is to delete the source (Remove all entries) and add it again to rebuild the Library.

Thanks! I'll have to just redo the library as I do not have any backups. Howcome the "clean library" doesn't fix this issue? Is this because I made changes to the actual folders and files on the NAS?

Is that what you are talking about?
Also, have a look at this script - its great for refreshing the art cache from the command line, I use it all the time on my XBian build.

That's a pretty sweet script. I'll check it out later and see how it works on my rig. Thanks!
