I am watching an mkv with 5.1 pcm audio, around 4mbit, it shows as 5.1 during playback, but the output to my receiver is only 2.0. Any idea how to fix this? DTS works fine.

First thing: Provide more information.

1) Full details of your setup as explained in Please read before you post - which of course you read and understood - right!
2) Why do you think it is wrong?
3) Provide codec information of the file.
4) What are your audio settings in XBMC
