I have created a home backup of xbian through xbian-config and moved it to my removable usb stick for when i need it, but when i try to copy it back into root/xbmc-backup through the file manager it will not copy across? Is the root directory read only? how can i copy it across to restore??
Thanks
Scott
You need to put it in the directory "Put_here_to_restore" then the restore will happen automatically.
The problem is that I can't copy the backup I have on a usb flash drive to the restore folder. It just says one or more files could not be copied?

Well that's completely different to your first post.
1) Verify the backup file with gzip or winrar.
2) Post the output of the command an the error message

correct dir for uploading is /xbmc-backup/put_here_to_restore . also, "restore-home" service needs to be started
Code:
sudo start restore-home
/xbmc-backup/put_here_to_restore will appear and should be writable for everyone
