Hello,

I've installed xbian beta2 to USB and upgraded to RC1.
But XBMC and SSh is now very slow. I think it is a Problem of BTRFS but i'm not realy sure.
Can somebody please help me figure it out ?
Now I have 5Mb/s write on RC1 but I think that there is a problem with usb driver. You need to use EXT4 File System and no NTFS.
Hello,

Thanks for your answer. I'm not using NTFS.
I'm using btrfs and at the beginning everything was fine, but now everything is slow Sad
The media library thumbmails are not loading, menu is slow, sometime i have hangs for 10 seconds and so on.
The Problem seems to be btrfs. I don't know where to start debugging Sad
BTRFS I think that is a good File System for SD cards and SSD however for Hard Disck I think that isn't a good option.

In my opinion it was a bit soon use BTRFS in ours Raspberry Pi such as first option.

With EXT4 I have also problems so It can be that the USB driver have a bug or something like that.
Let's put things into perspective here.

I'm running RPi 512Mb, Xbian RC1, USB 8GB flash boot drive, 2TB WD USB HDD - I'm even on Std 700Mhz overclock.

and I am not suffering from any USB problems.

So lets get some details.
1) How is you HDD powered?
2) What is the output of dmesg and xbmc.log - as requested in "Please read before you post"
3) What is the output of "top" when the delay occurs?
4) What is the output of vmstat 5 10 when the delay occurs.
5) Is this just after powering up? As Xbian needs to do a lot of things to get everything in order.
