Is there a possibility to toggle with a keyboard key the output of music to:

Output stereo to all speakers.


Background:
If I play just 2 channel music my 5.1 home cinema setup does not use sub ( LFE) and back speakers.
and it is boring to aways goto the audio settings an switch manually

You could try the XBMC keymap editor to see if that works.

In essence, it looks like an AV issue rather than a RPi problem.

your AVR should switch audio mode depends on source and if dorsnt you need to do it manualy from AVR and not in XBMC.if you play stereo than you have stereo on HDMI output
