Cross-post warning: https://github.com/xbianonpi/xbian/issues/509. I have already put this on github, but also want to discuss this with the regular users and admins.

Quote:When the big Raspbmc clash occured before the mk01 era, (I believed) XBian got well aware of the issue of documentation and licenses. So, as i do for a hobby, i went through all repositories looking for any license information and didn't find any (easily).

So my questions:

- What happened with the COPYING file that is common in all github repositories? https://github.com/pilight/pilight/blob/master/COPYING
- Why don't all files made for XBian contain a license header? Examples are all the gen.package.sh scripts, the new XBian skin files, the upstart conf files, the deb package *install scripts etc?
- Where did all the documentation on the main page go? For example, there once was a nice tutorial about how to dd the XBian image to your SD card. Now only instructions about the installer are available. What if the installer doesn't work?
- Why is there no information about who created the installer originally?

and more importantly, my name is now associated with code i didn't create, for example:
https://github.com/xbianonpi/xbian-package-config-shell/blob/master/content/usr/local/include/xbian-config/modules/xbiancopy/

Please remove my name in those files but even better update these header with the proper year and developer

And to not only complain: https://github.com/xbianonpi/xbian-config-bash/pull/33
