Sometimes, with bad internet connectivity, it can take ages for the subtitles dialog to come up with choices. There is no apparent way to cancel out of this dialog (at least with the default remote buttons). Pressing the back button here should bring you back to the movie.

I think that is more of an XBMC rather than Xbian issue.

Maybe you could post the question on the XBMC forum for a better response.

Gotham is doing it better.

It opens the window immediately (even without content) so while you wait window already exists and can be closed.
