Hi all,

I have a PCTV nanostick T2 290e which is supported in the latest linux kernel - I have used this device on OpenELEC no problem.

However I have installed 'xbian-package-tvheadend' and gone to the web interface on another computer but the device is not shown - I have made sure it has power and is directly plugged into the pi.

dmesg shows:

Some others seem to think that's it's something to do with the Kernel version - I am running 3.12.7+

Any idea friends?
install newer kernel if that helped others. there is 3.12.20+ at STABLE repo.

but highly recommended 3.15.+ from STAGING (xbian-package-kernel=1.5.2).

anyhow looking at the csum errors on filesystem, looks like underpower.

What's the safest/easiest way to update?

I've ran a apt-cache search

Quote:xbian@xbian ~ $ sudo apt-cache search xbian-package-kernel
[sudo] password for xbian:
xbian-package-kernel - Latest XBian kernel for the Raspberry Pi (3.12.7+)
xbian-package-kernel-headers - Latest XBian kernel headers for the Raspberry Pi (3.12.7+)
xbian@xbian ~ $

But they are the same Kernel I'm using...
@Ali3n0idd

if you really don't want anything else, then
Code:
sudo -i
cd /tmp
wget http://xbian.brantje.com/pool/staging/main/x/xbian-package-kernel/xbian-package-kernel_3.15.3%2b_armhf.deb
wget http://xbian.brantje.com/pool/staging/main/x/xbian-package-firmware/xbian-package-firmware_1.5.0_armhf.deb
dpkg -i xbian-package-firmware_1.5.0_armhf.deb xbian-package-kernel_3.15.3+_armhf.deb

if you do just
Code:
apt-get update & upgrade

you get 3.12.20+ which is on stable.
Excellent I was able to see my tuner after updating the kernel. Thanks alot, mk01!

Only issue now is a lot of errors on the display, not usuable - TV tuner works fine in other computer with same signal etc.

I have overclocked to turbo but this forces the pi to stop on the xbian logo 'network started' so I can't overclock currently. So this isn't an option for me and I'm not sure why the video shows errors and stutters Dodgy
@Ali3n0id

there are reports that newer kernels & fw doesn't boot on TURBO even before they did. No idea there.
but Turbo is not only option, mine RPIs never booted Turbo and I use personally

Code:
arm_freq=920
core_freq=420
sdram_freq=500
over_voltage=2

that worked before, works even now. try something similar. Maybe you can leave even arm at 1000 and just try lowering core at steps of 20 (from the Turbo which is 500).
