I have Xbian installed running the latest beta etc of XBMC all good and loving it Smile
I'd like to buy an RFXCOM 433Mhz transmitter to plug in it and run it from Domoticz.

Is this possible or is the pi, xbian etc going to fall over in a heap?
My guess is that it will not work - modules not loaded in the kernel etc.. This could be solved, but at the end of the day, Xbian is a media player and that is it's primary task. Considering the cost of the RF unit, you would be better advised to see if it actually works on Raspbian before seeing it it could work on Xbian.

I doubt anything will fall over in a heap - it just won't work.
Just use pilight. Also a lot cheaper.

Pity it is no use for z-wave devices Sad

Can you or anyone else provide me some link(s) to a detailed installation guide since I'm very unfamiliar with Linux.
I only know how to log in into putty and just copy/paste commands....................
Installed Domoticz on Xbian with an RFXtrx433E last week, worked without a hitch. I followed this tutorial and used the 'installing from source' method.

I think the RFXtrx433E is recognised automatically as I can't remember needing to install special software for that.
