Hello,

Software
XBian version: XBian 1.0 (knockout)
XBMC/Kodi version: 14.2~RC1-1426224368
Overclock settings: None

Hardware
Device type and model: Raspberry Pi 2 Model B
Power supply rating: 5V 2000mA
SD card: PNY 8BG Class 10 (boot) with Kingston DataTraveler 100 G3 (root)
Network: Ethernet
Connected devices: TV Panasonic Viera and Kingston DataTraveler 100 G3

When I use xbian-config to update, all packages update correctly however when I try to update 'xbian-update' from 20150304-2 to 20150817-0 it fails saying "A serious error has occured while processing these packages" . The installation log says "the following packages have unmet dependencies: xbian-update : Depends: xbian-package-cec-6q but it is not in libcec but it is not installable"

I tried 'update mirrors' and 'apt-get update' in xbian-config
I tried resetting my apt-get sources from the xbian.org/faq page.
I tried to reinstall xbian-package-cec using apt-get install --reinstall.
Ofcourse I rebooted the device multiple times.

moreover when I do for example:

Terminal
sudo apt-cache policy xbian-package-xbmc
xbian-package-xbmc:
Installed: 14.2~RC1-1426224368
Candidate: 14.2~RC1-1426224368
Version table:
*** 14.2~RC1-1426224368 0
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

Any idea what is wrong?

Edit (solved):
This is solved with the release of 20150911-3
I am not sure about your issue, but there is a problem with upgrade at the moment. Maybe related?
Hi, just wanted to say I have the same problem.

A bit of difference is that I'm trying to update from 20150407-0 to 20150817-0 but I get the same error on apt-get install xbian-update:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
xbian-update : Depends: xbian-package-cec-6q but it is not installable or
libcec but it is not installable
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

Has somebody else been through this?
Wait for it being resolved by us automatically.

Great news! Thanks.
Any news on this update?
folllowing this thread with interest..
still no fix after 2 weeks for this epic-fail?

sorry guys, but whats wrong with xbian? nearly no development anymore! wake up!
maybe its better switch to OSMC. there is much more active development...
Should Xbian be running off Debian Jessie or is that part of the update that will also bring Kodi 15.x?
i think Debian Jessie is far far far far away from xbian...
i cant see it for many months if there is no development...
I'm running Jessie for months.
New images are also already on Jessie. We are just waiting for @mk01 to polish the upgrade from Wheezy to Jessie.
I just tried upgrading a pi1 and pi2 both with 'serious error' messages.

Dependency issues with

Depends: libc6 (>= 2.17) but 2.13-38+rpi etc...
Depends libstdc++6 (>= 4.8.1) bit 4.7.2 etc...

When I try to correct the problem I get the following......
Terminal

xbian@cinema ~ $ sudo apt-get install libc6
[sudo] password for xbian:
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
libc6 is already the newest version.
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 14 not upgraded.
xbian@cinema ~ $

And.....
Terminal

xbian@cinema ~ $ sudo apt-get install libstdc++6
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
libstdc++6 is already the newest version.
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 14 not upgraded.
xbian@cinema ~ $
Updated today my Pi 1 B and zero issues with APT-GET ... i also had 14 packages to update.

So far everything OK.
Hi, I see that there is a new updateable version (20150906-0) but I still get the same error.
@CurlyMo was this one the fix update that you mentioned that was coming?
