Probably a Kodi issue, but I cannot change the ip address of a pi 2 from within the Kodi system menu. It always returns an error message.

Works fine from xbian-config however.
Didn't know you could change the IP address from within Kodi itself, or do you mean Kodi-xbian-config as opposed to ssh-xbian-config?
Does this happen on a fresh install or with and older installation?

Just tested with latest image on RPi3, no problem (etn0 from DHCP -> static IP 1 ->static IP 2)
Iridium you are correct.

It's as old as a pi 2 version can be I suppose Smile

This raises the question as to how often we can upgrade and how often we should reinstall everything from scratch?

Very good question - but I suppose there is no answer Undecided

For me - I never did a fresh install for my 'productive' XBian's, always upgrading. So I went from Rpi1 -> RPi2 -> Rpi3, never had serious trouble Smile

And my .kodi folder comes from XBMC 10 (Dharma)
I guess that I did some fresh installs in the early days (2012-2015) but not for a while.
