I assume you've turned Simplink on in the Menu on the TV? My LG works fine (albeit with only about 12 buttons are actually useable)

until guys fix the issues I would like to suggest try to use Android or iOS remote applications like XBMC Remote or Yatse.
not a fix but as a temporary solution.
