Full Version: Panasonic P42G20 and RPi not working along

I'm running Xbian 1.0a4 with XMBC version 12.0 RC1.
My system is only Xbian-overclocked
Power supply rating = 5V, 1A from socket
Nothing connected (no USB)
Connected with UTP/LAN
SD = 4GB Kingston rating 10

I'm trying to get CEC working with my Panasonic P42G20, but nothing seems to work.
I've tried 3 HDMI-cables.

My Viera Link is set as follows, might be something wrong here?
Viera Link = ON
HDMI Connect Type = Auto
Q-Link = AV2 (since the RPi is connected to HDMI2, dno if this is correct though)
AV2 out = TV
Power on Link = Off
Power off Link = Off
Standby Power Save = ---
Intelligent Auto Standby = Off

Changed nothing related to CEC in Xbian. cec=config doesn't get further than
Quote:xbian@xbian:~# cec-config
=== USB-CEC Adapter Configuration ===

opening a connection to the CEC adapter...

If you need any other info, please let me know!
Are you sure that TV does support CEC? I googeled a bit and couldn't find it does
i looked into it too and it has a CEC (Viera Link) (HDAVI Control 5)
and all this specs are exact same as mine TX-P50G20B where I have no issue what so ever and my CEC works out of box

still trying to figure out what is going on ??? here
maybe we can ask libCEC guys to look closer ?
I have some info from @opdenkamp (libCEC developer)
https://github.com/Pulse-Eight/libcec/issues/109
until guys fix the issues I would like to advise use Android or iOS remote applications like XBMC Remote or Yatse.
not a fix but as a temporary solution.
We are sorry that we cant help any better
Thanks Rikardo.
Could you please acknowledge my Viera-Link settings? Are they okay?
Just to make sure I'm not making misstakes on the TV-end.

P.s. I'm currently using Yatse, but when I'm away I bring my phone, so no XBMC for my girlfriend and son ...
You could consider buying a cheap IR remote (http://wiki.xbian.org/view/Recommended_and_supported_hardware )

your TV settings are OK so it shouldn't cause any issues
Okay, figured it out!
I had 3 HDMI-cables connected:
HDMI1: Cable settop box
HDMI2: Raspberry Pi
HDMI3: Used for connection to laptop, not connected most of the time.

Today I rebooted the Pi after unplugging HDMI1&3, and guess what: CEC worked!!!!
I replugged both the cables, CEC not working Sad
Turned out the HDMI3 messed it up. I no longer use it now!

Anyone with a possible explanation? Is it because it's not connected? Or could it be a faulty cable?
Was also able to cancel my order @ Dealextreme for a USB+Remote \0/

I am happy!!!
thank you for your update here
you can ask guys from libCEC what they think about it
really curious
