Hi,

I'm trying to watch the stream from a Foscam IP camera (FI8918W) on Xbian.

The stream works from my Windows PC. But my ideal babycam setup involves a Pi on a small monitor in our bedroom :-).

I'm using this in a .strm file":
http://192.168.1.29:81/videostream.asf?user=xbmc&pwd=xbmc

Guessing this has to do with the .asf part.

Is there a solution?
XBMC supports it http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Internet_video_and_audio_streams . However can you describe the exact problem? Can you also post your /home/xbian/.xbmc/temp/xbmc.log after your tried to play the stream? (post it on http://www.pastebin.com and link it here)
I too am interested in how I can feed my foscam IP camera through Xbian.

Could someone please provide some more detailed instructions, e.g. which parts of the menu should I use to configure etc

Thank you in advance for your patience.
not sure, but you can try add source and select Tuxbox from menu.
But is just my guess Wink
this works for streams from SAT boxes so lets try
Hi,

Will try to give the info requested asap.

It's working in XBMC on Windows to clarify, so I know XBMC can do it.

I've made a txt file: babycam.strm
which contains the http:// address of my camera and user/pw:
http://192.168.1.29:81/videostream.asf?u...c&pwd=xbmc

When I open this in a Windows XBMC it streams. When I open this in Xbian, Xbian hangs. As I said: will try to pastebin the logs asap.
@bartmans can you try installing this XBMC 12 build? https://github.com/xbianonpi/xbmc-nightly/tree/Frodo (scroll down for the instructions).
