currently i am using this wlan adapater with xbian, but streaming x264 from my gbit network is just not fast enough to get smooth playback

Is anyone succesfully streaming HD x264 content via wlan?
if yes, what adapter do you use?
Yes, For example Avatar (+- 10GB) 1080P 5.1 DTS. I have an Edimax EW-7811UN adapter. I also recommend updating XBMC because this could also make a difference: https://github.com/xbianonpi/xbmc-nightly/blob/Frodo/README.md
looks like the same as i posted?
Are you streaming from NFS or samba? NFS is definitely faster
i added the share as upnp, no idea if thats NFS or samba
Is your router "N" compatible ? Maybe silly question but with b/g routers you will get max 2-3MB/s with N router and 150Mbps wifi dongle I get about 6MB/s and 10GB files plays fine.
its an 300mbit n router, yes
i don't know what movies you have, but i get around 12Mb/s with peaks up to 17Mb/s

TX: cum: 4.75MB peak: rates:
RX: 231MB 17.2Mb 14.8Mb 11.2Mb 11.3Mb

i am streaming of samba on a freenas server
Right now i am able to watch hd x264 movies, only occasionally i get a buffer msg
no idea if thats freenas causing it, or my network or the rpi
