RE: Official XBian 1.0 Beta 2 thread - koper89 - 26th Jan, 2014 11:17 PM Ok, i upgraded last btrfs and other stuff, I succeded on copying my xbian to harddrive, but after rebooting it with edited cmd, xbian freezes on network started... Any suggestions? After switching back to: /dev/mmcblk0p2 it's ok. RE: Official XBian 1.0 Beta 2 thread - dstuart - 27th Jan, 2014 01:22 AM So I had some updates available, and now I'm running RC1? Sorry, if this is in the wrong place, but I couldn't see any posts about this new release? Anyway, it seems to be running fine. Except, it won't show 'Movies' and 'TV Shows' on the home screen anymore; and they've not been hidden, as the option is greyed out in preferences for some reason. ![]() I'm running Confluence for Xbian, but it's not a Skin issue. As I've tried switching, and it's the same problem in other skins. My library, on my NAS, is accessed over NFS, and it's still accessible through Videos->Files. RE: Official XBian 1.0 Beta 2 thread - IriDium - 27th Jan, 2014 03:23 AM @dstuart Have you tried cleaning the library or tried adding it again. This behaviour seems to suggest the library doesn't have any records. @koper89 How did you copy the files to HDD - can you post the config.txt and cmdline.txt files. RE: Official XBian 1.0 Beta 2 thread - dstuart - 27th Jan, 2014 03:26 AM Yeah sorry, my bad! The update erased my advancedsettings.xml, so it wasn't pointing to my shared library. Feel a bit dim now! ![]() But still, pretty annoying... RE: Official XBian 1.0 Beta 2 thread - koper89 - 27th Jan, 2014 03:35 AM i coppied through sss xbian-config, used xbian-copy from /dev/root --> /dev/sda1 config.txt - > http://pastebin.com/94edGAjX cmdline.txt -> http://pastebin.com/2quUUWdH ofc in root= i tried: root=/dev/sda1 and root=LABEL=xbian-copy both at least once didnt boot because my drive mounted to slowly i suppouse but if they booted they froze on network started ... Im using wifi dongle (powered usb hub) RE: Official XBian 1.0 Beta 2 thread - IriDium - 27th Jan, 2014 03:43 AM @koper89 1) Go back to a standard config.txt and cmline.txt. root=/dev/sda1 Remove the wifi dongle and try again. There is somewhere a thread about booting without ethernet. If possible use an ethernet cable, configure the Wifi and all should be well. RE: Official XBian 1.0 Beta 2 thread - koper89 - 27th Jan, 2014 04:16 AM Ok, I made xbian copy once again, after success i tried on standard config and cmline without wifi dongle and without ethernet but also froze on network started ... EDIT: Noticed that when i boot from SD it's configuring network -> starting xbmc -> network started ->starting xbmc When from HDD configuring network -> network started ... freeze (empty bar) RE: Official XBian 1.0 Beta 2 thread - Smultie - 27th Jan, 2014 04:31 AM Same here. I'm always on ethernet. So it's not solely caused by Wi-Fi. RE: Official XBian 1.0 Beta 2 thread - Lucifer - 27th Jan, 2014 01:41 PM Hello guys. Just tried upgrading. After apt-get dist-upgrade the upgrade process fails with: Code: [FAIL] Starting automount...failed (failed to load autofs4 module). Tried rebooting the Pi, but it is now stuck in infinite "starting xbmc" loop. What am I doing wrong? EDIT: Never mind! A restart to reinit the kernel modules and apt-get upgrade / dist-upgrade makes it work ... RE: Official XBian 1.0 Beta 2 thread - freem@n - 28th Jan, 2014 02:17 AM @Lucifer: same for me. a reboot fixed it for most of the packages. how ever I still get this when running sudo apt-get upgrade: Terminal Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done The following packages have been kept back: xbian-package-cec 0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 1 not upgraded. not sure why this would happen. update is always good in my opinion ;-) I don't need CEC at the moment but maybe when I take the Pi to a friends place.. so why is this package ignored? Feel a bit dim now!I just had the same "oi..wtf?!" experience until i figured advancedsettings.xml got truncated. Other than that, the dist-upgrade went smooth and all is working fine, even snappier than before (most likely due to mk01's BTRFS patch fair). Thanks! RE: Official XBian 1.0 Beta 2 thread - Lucifer - 28th Jan, 2014 08:58 AM Hei guys. Those of you who use CEC - does your multimedia buttons work after upgrading it? I used to be able to stop, pause and play movie from the buttons on the remote ... now I can't. RE: Official XBian 1.0 Beta 2 thread - min - 29th Jan, 2014 07:12 AM Turbo overclock is still causing a freeze on boot after the kernel & firmware updates. Is there anything that needs to be set in the boot folder? Re: RE: Official XBian 1.0 Beta 2 thread - Gwystyl - 29th Jan, 2014 08:07 AM (28th Jan, 2014 08:58 AM)Lucifer Wrote: Hei guys. I've had some problems with CEC also. After a reboot not all buttons on my Panasonic tv-remote are recognized, but when I use Yatse on my phone to disable and re-enable CEC, it works after some time. It looks like initialization doesn't go well at bootup even when there's a notification that a cec remote has been found. RE: Official XBian 1.0 Beta 2 thread - Carpenter - 29th Jan, 2014 05:03 PM Ok, so I've installed a fresh copy of XBian, and after the first sudo apt-get update and apt-get upgrade there are now 8 packages hold back. Is this normal? Terminal Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done The following packages have been kept back: btrfs-tools xbian-package-cec xbian-package-config-shell xbian-package-config-xbmc xbian-package-initramfs-tools xbian-package-kernel xbian-package-xbmc xbian-update 0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 8 not upgraded. I also noticed that almost all XBian skins in the XBian Repository are broken. Besides that, it occurs quite often that packages fail to be fetched. After a couple of times trying it works again. I'm on LAN btw.
