RE: beta2 - mk01 - 4th Oct, 2013 07:26 PM @namtih I miss "startevent=mountall --startup-event mountall" in your cmdline.txt but this would lead to "frozen like" state AFTER kernel initializes (3-4-5s after turning on RPI, after kernel writes 2-3 pages of info to the screen) - found startevent=xbian in your cmdline.txt what from quite old beta2 version. could by any chance happened you xbian-update is not fresh? what is /etc/xbian_revision telling? Can you PLEASE pack /boot/{initramfs.gz, kernel.img, System.map, fixup.dat, cmdline.txt, config.txt, start.elf, bootcode.bin} into archive and share somehow with me? RE: beta2 - brantje - 4th Oct, 2013 07:27 PM @mk01, For future uploads testing, you can use my server if you want, in stead of a 100kb/s download we would have 4/5 Mb/s. Left my pi on this night, doing nothing, came back this morning screen was black, no login promp, so i had to start xbmc via command line. And again, nothing in logs. So no, it is not REALLY needed. mk RE: beta2 - brantje - 4th Oct, 2013 07:42 PM If you have a domain name, dyndns or just a subdomain, i can set it up for you. Will make a reseller hosting account so you can adjust the settings to your needs ![]() Also don't worry about the traffic, its unlimited =). Stupid ISP didn't describe the FUP, so it is unlimited ^_^. But i think they don't like me ![]() ![]() RE: beta2 - IriDium - 4th Oct, 2013 08:05 PM Upgraded this morning: Low Priority: Just looked at profiles. (Never used them before) Creted a new profile, tried to log into it - RPi froze. Rebooted - unable to sign in - XBMC crashed. Restarted XBMC - same issue. Master User works, it's only the secondary that seems to cause an issue. It may be relevant, but dmesg shows multiple: init: xbian-xbmc-bridge main process ended, respawning. Eventually it worked, however, whenever I switch users, dmesg shows more bridge respawning errors. Will remove the option and see if the bridge respawning still occurs (I hope not as I thought this was fixed). Rebooted and XBMC didn't start. dmesg: init: wait-for-state (xbmcxbmc-loaded) main process (326) terminated with status 100 Removing the extra user, disabling profiles and rebooting put's the system back to "normal". I've installed this new version, but as I was back from lunch the screen was black again. XBMC.bin was running, but I wasn't able to get a picture. Had to restart it. So it seems that this version isn't an improvement. I've now disabled the screensaver (black) to see if it makes a difference. RE: beta2 - mk01 - 4th Oct, 2013 08:55 PM @IriDium @namtih ok, then I will revert to the one we used still three days ago. I'm sure the profiles worked there I'm using them as well and for almost month there were no other reported issues (other than the bookmarking problem I'm aware of). RE: beta2 - rndl - 4th Oct, 2013 09:43 PM Guys, is there any way to popper update to the new versions and test them? I mean, I tried to get the beta 2 but since the mirrors were down I couldn't. Is there any mirror working so I can apt-get clean; apt-get update; apt-get upgrade ? RE: beta2 - namtih - 4th Oct, 2013 09:47 PM It's all online. So you should be able to update. Just open your "/etc/apt/sources.list" and add the line "deb http://ivka57.dyndns-ip.com wheezy main" to it. And then the 3 apt-get commands. Code: root@xbian ~ # more /etc/apt/sources.list RE: beta2 - IriDium - 4th Oct, 2013 10:29 PM Has anyone tested with a USB DVD player? I don't posses one so can’t tell if it works or not. I was able to upload initial copy, but updates are failing. depending on rsync parameters used, I get no errors but no updates to files or when using —append —inplace I get ftruncate errors (operation not permitted). so I will need ssh, rsync supports transfers over ssh tunnel. If you play a video and open the audio settings then change the volume amplification to something other than 0 dB then set this as the default for all videos the issue will be resolved. Or open the ~/.xbmc/userdata/guisettings.xml and change this to something other than 0: Code: <defaultvideosettings> RE: beta2 - IriDium - 5th Oct, 2013 12:45 AM (5th Oct, 2013 12:21 AM)f1vefour Wrote:(4th Oct, 2013 10:29 PM)IriDium Wrote: Becareful, you don't go too far back, as the previous update solved the volume control not working problem. The problem I had was the +/- F9 F10 as volume up/down plus F8 as Mute were not working. Is this the sane problem, this fix is for? |
