Play from dvd drive over SMB - sharkboom - 2nd Jul, 2013 09:24 PM Is there any way I can play a physical dvd? I can see the folder and files on the dvd, but there are problems: 1. Everything is black. Is this because I lack the codec serial number for MPEG2? 2. The dvd drive makes bonk-bonk-bonk noises 3. I want to play the entire move, not just single files 4. I need subtitles I have XBian 1.0 Alpha 5. Re: Play from dvd drive over SMB - rikardo1979 - 2nd Jul, 2013 09:34 PM better stay away from this on RPi... to much hassle as XBMC on RPi never meant to support DVD RE: Play from dvd drive over SMB - sharkboom - 2nd Jul, 2013 09:54 PM Ok, thanks. Do you know any other solution for playing a dvd over a network? RE: Play from dvd drive over SMB - IriDium - 2nd Jul, 2013 10:17 PM I backup my DVD's as ISO. These seem to play flawlessly over a network - and the whole file without a stutter. However, you have to remove the menus and just backup the main movie. DVD menus do not always work, sometime they do, othertimes, they don't. You need a MPEG license to play these files. Or convert to mp4 or mkv and you don't need a license. |
