Android remote not working - p4trykx - 25th Dec, 2012 08:03 AM

The newest version of XBMC seem not to be backward compatible with Official XBMC remote form Gooogle Play. The "remote control" part works but other functionalities show i/o exception when accessing page GetSystemInfor...

There is a newer verison on the remote here
https://github.com/tombriden/android-xbmcremote/downloads
It mostly works giving sometimes NullPointer exceptions on empty lists i/e when we don't have any TV Shows.

Yatse is more powerful but unfortunately crashes sometimes and then goes into endless loop of crashing and starting again

The "Official" Remote still has this issue, 19 months later. But, that newer version you linked hasn't had any releases since your post, either. Do we have any other options (I saw the post about Yatse), or has this thread covered all of the current options?

not only Android. IOS version is doing the same.

btw: XBCM newer had good WWW interfaces. by accident I installed CHORUS which is available from standard XBMC repo. Very much usefull and nice too.
