Xbox "S" controller driver? - nodots - 4th Aug, 2013 07:09 AM

It seems that the driver for the Microsoft "S" controller (original Xbox) is not present in the kernel. I plug it in and get no response, also I have booted with it plugged in. Could it be planned to add said driver for a future release? Even if it was an optional (DKMS or binary) package that I could install via USB dongle (no internet at home), that would be great.

@nodots Looks like no one knows the answer to this. Have replied, to "jump start" this thread again, in the hope that someone may know the answer.

The Xbox 360 controller is wifi not bluetooth, the Xbox 1 is USB but you have to create an adapter, you can get a wired 360 USB controller or a wireless USB dongle designrd for the PC allowing use of the wireless controllers on other devices.

The Linux kernel supports the controller the OP has, they were saying the necessary module was not included in the kernel. Best bet would be to PM mk01 your request, it is a simple change.
