RE: beta2 - IriDium - 24th Sep, 2013 03:36 AM

Activated "Turn TV off with screen saver" - it worked, but turning TV back on again rebooted XBIAN. Possibly a conflict with CEC option what to do when TV is switched off.

Suggest remove that option - looked good but has problems.

Also - remove flashing "warning" on ssh if no updates are available.

Clear block message still happening:

Thank for this, it was causing xbmc STOP (after the delay time) on my system (i could ssh and restart though), disabling it ffixes the problem for me.

RE: beta2 - IriDium - 25th Sep, 2013 01:25 AM

What is actually backed up in ssh "Backup / Home to file"?

I created a backup, then moved ~./*.zip to a folder Addons. Put Backup....gz into Put_here_to_restore and rebooted. Nothing had changed. I had expected the zip files to be back where they were when the image was created or am I missing something here?

RE: beta2 - IriDium - 25th Sep, 2013 03:24 AM

In "normal" - playing music, switching to minimal "#" or what ever the key is" - Screen goes to 1/4 size. Switching back has music delayed by about 1/2 second.
Nothing in dmesg or xbmc.log

RE: beta2 - Smultie - 26th Sep, 2013 01:28 AM

Just installed beta2 and I'm pleasantly surprised.
One thing that doesn't seem to be working anymore though are the "play, pause, stop, forward" buttons on my remote when using CEC.

Is this music or videos? Seems to work for me. Can you have a look in dmesg and xbmc.log for anything that might be relevant.

Have you upgraded recently? There was an earlier issue with irc that was supposed to be fixed.

VERY small point: If you ssh into the RPi - and you run a standard 80 x 24 terminal window, the motd obscures the "available updates".

Does RPi update still affect Xbian? If not can that line be removed.

Well, nevermind my previous remark. It seems to be my cable settop box interfering with CEC again. When I unplug the settop box-HDMI cable, the Pause/Stop buttons etc all work again!

RE: beta2 - Smultie - 27th Sep, 2013 03:28 AM

Just had a crash when trying to add a bookmark within a file.

Quote: 4 Video bookmarks

This feature allows you to create bookmarks within your videos in order to be able to return to a certain point in them. This could be compared to chapters in DVD videos. In order to create them, go to the point in your video that you wish to bookmark, select the button with the folded paper (from the Videos OSD), and select Create Bookmark. To jump to a previously stored bookmark, simply highlight and select it through the Videos OSD.
You can clear all the saved bookmarks by selecting Clear Bookmarks.

As soon as I try to press "Create Bookmark" XBMC exits, black screen with white text appears and XBMC restarts.

This is a failed apt installation error: http://mihirknows.blogspot.nl/2009/02/resolving-odd-dpkg-error-in-ubuntu-dpkg.html

RE: beta2 - darrylb - 27th Sep, 2013 09:36 AM

Thanks CurlyMo, that resolved that particular issue. It seems there was a bunch of config I had to clean up, after some packages were removed.

Now, I am running into the xbian source timing out:
