Is Hauppauge 905Q best bet for xbian in USA? - scubaman - 18th Nov, 2013 08:12 AM I'm new to the raspberry pi and xbian, having a lot of fun but also pursuing too may dead ends. Finally realized I needed a tuner to be able to get TV - thought there would be some internet source I could stream from but apparently I was wrong. If not - can someone point me in the right direction? So now I have been looking at USB tuners. Unfortunately, the Hauppauge 950Q is one of the more expensive ones - but it's the one where some people seem to have some documented success. I did read the last thread, and I'm not sure this is completely solved, but there's hope. Is a different tuner like the KWorld KW-UB435Q going to be substantially more work than the Hauppauge? Or totally uncharted territory? I am tempted to buy a cheaper tuner and try it in windows just to see what stations there are locally. It would be nice if there were a path to get it to work in xbian. Just feeling around, and I'll appreciate all advice and any pointers!
