Since upgrading to a4 I cannot airplay from either pc or laptop or a first gen ipad running os5.1.1, when I was running a3 it did show the airplay icon on itunes/ipad.

@Dave can you try rebooting your iPhone? It's working here without problems. (iOS 6.0.1, 6.0.2 and OS X 10.8.2)

@Dave, can you try upgrading XBMC? http://forum.xbian.org/showthread.php?tid=211

XBian Config: Disable CEC is ignored. - doug - 13th Jan, 2013 04:11 AM

I'm trying to disable CEC via XBian config.

I put an asterisk next to:
-XBian Config -->2 Settings --> 4 Connectivity --> 1 Video Output --> 4 Disable CEC
-reboot
CEC is still enabled.

Is this setting redundant given the CEC settings within xbmc?
I'm trying to disable it to try and operate cec-client from the command line. That is causing me some headaches too.

Can you post the content of /boot/config.txt?

I did that, still no joy, out of utter randomness I changed the client name, still nout, then assigned to use a password - this brought the icon up but failed to play, removed the password and it's working..

So random but all good so far...

Cheers

Dave

Results didn't stick at first. I ran cec-config, moved the file produced, and had to fix permissions with /home/xbian/.xbmc/userdata/peripheral_data/rpi_2708_1001.xml

I can now disable CEC within xbmc. Unfortunately, I'm still having trouble changing inputs. sigh

I don't see the cec setting being added. Try adding it yourself:
Code:
hdmi_ignore_cec=1

Heyya!
xbian 1.0 a4 seems to have a problem with "special chars" like Ö Ä Ü

If I connect to my NAS via ftp the Passwort transfered correct so i can login and use the (movie-)data. But then cURL get buggy because there is no chartype encoding, so i get an error if I want to access movies with a Ä Ö or Ü in its title!

If I try to connect via SMB to the same Server (its also the same PW and it contains spezialchars) I´ve got 'Permission denied' or its asking for the PW again and again and again. From other Clients there´s no problem so i think its because of the specialchars in the password.

hope that could be easily fixed
go on!

P.S.: sry for bad english, I´m a german

Who can fix this issue?

(2nd Jan, 2013 10:14 AM)TelosNox Wrote:  If a Video is playing and you change to another video which has the same resolution, then the screen will turn black and you only get audio. This appeared one patch before alpha 4 (my initial install of xbian was fine). I hoped it would be fixed with alpha 4 but too bad it didn't.

Raspbmc had the same problem and it was fixed (see here for the forum post http://forum.stmlabs.com/showthread.php?tid=5331 - its youtube related but its the same problem).

To reproduce its best to just use a series (because they should have the same resolution) and then play one episode and change to the next one without stopping first. Then the screen will stay black.
You can get the screen back working, if you changte the aspect ratio.

I hope you can fix that.

Alpha 4 should be based on 12 RC1 but somehow I am missing the new audio engine.

RE: XBian 1.0 Alpha 4 Bugthread - Handaloo - 28th Jan, 2013 07:37 PM

Hey Guys,

I've been running A4 for a few months now and had no issues.

One has popped up recently which may have been there all along and not noticed.

I rarely use Airplay, but this weekend me and my wife used it a few times, each time it works great, with images or video (didn't try audio) and each time it crashes the Pi and required a reboot.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Handaloo

Bug playing ONLY SOME XViD files. Encoding format listed at the end.
What happens: Starts video playback, but with no picture, AUDIO ONLY.
On the IRC we talked that this is probably caused by non-supported hardware decoder, or stuff like that. Could be also a XBMC bug.
To be checked if other distros (RaspBMC, OpenELEC, etc) reproduce it.

I am having this same errors! Any fixes so far?
