Which all relate to the WD

These could be due to a suspect hub. Do you have a spare that you could try?

What is the amperage of your RPi power supply?

You could try removing the HUB and plugging your KB and WD directly into the RPi – it might work just for testing.

Not sure if this helps, but her is my debug log:

I can purchase another hub and see if that changes anything. The hub I'm using now is brand new.

The amperage of the RPi is 1.

Will there be enough power from the pi to support the WD?

I have no idea, but it will eliminate or confirm my prognosis.

In my Beta2 all drives - no matter what they are mount perfectly.
