How to disable CEC completely (including notifications) in XBMC - namecaps - 15th Jan, 2014 08:26 PM

Hi,

I have a problem with CEC, as I don't have CEC capable devices I want to have it disabled. I already disabled it in config.txt and in XBMC, but still everytime I turn on XBMC it shows CEC notification (currently something about new CEC device found). Then it hangs for 10-15 seconds.
Is there any way to not to load this script at all?

I'm interested in a solution too. don't know if it brings any speed improvements during startup at all (rather doubt it)

Yeah, but still I don't want to see it as I'm not using it...

yeah I understand, same for me. only when I take my pi over to a friend or something I could need cec but this is rather unusual

I'm not too sure what the problem is? The hanging problem is probably due to your messing about.

I'm also not too sure how you tried to disable CEC in config, txt.

Please provide details of WHAT the problem is and we'll try and look into it.

If it is nothing more that a little notification message - then there is nothing that can be done.

cec adapter itself is always present.

all the parameters are changing cec communication / cec propagation / cec detection from this adapter to hdmi bus. so I suppose it will always be visible and present.
