Polkast, the formerly free cloud service has announced that it will no longer be free.

Well it's gone from free to 180USD a year! - That's quite a jump and led me to uninstall it from the server.
An unexpected side effect of so doing is that now the HDD's go into sleep mode a lot more saving valuable watts of energy as well as reducing wear and tear.
So in a funny way it's nice that they did this!

don't want to ruin your day, but considering how electronic/mechanic components work - during switch on or off is actually built the highest pressure on components.
I don't remember much cases of electronics died in the slow process. it's mostly like "I turned it off and since then I can not start it anymore!".
Don't you recall ?
