After updating xbian doesn't respond to remote - oetkaa - 6th Jul, 2014 08:27 PM

After updating Xbian doesn't respond to my remote if it's not being used for about 30 minutes. It looks like xbian has frozen, but the keyboard en digital remote (web interface en app) do work. After using the digital remote I get all the popups of activity at once, like usb sync or the screensaver.

I have used xbian for a while with the initial firmware without any problems, so it's not related to my charger, TV or remote. It sometimes didn't use it for days and it worked fine after that.

It's not a problem of one release, I have the problem for about a month now, and non of the new releases fixed this problem.

Do any of you have suggestions how to fix this? Thanks in advance!

Are you using CEC configuration or LIRC method?
If you use LIRC, you should check that XBMC is using the keymap of your remote.

Thanks for your suggestion, but unfortunately I'm using CEC and there's no problem with the keymap. Before inactivity it works fine and after Xbian is woken up with the digital remote, it does again.

The problem also get worse with the latest release. After Xbian is woken up, the xbmc interface is frozen but you can still hear that clicking sounds. If I select a file blind than It starts just fine and after that all is good again... I'm really curious what the cause of this problem is

@oetkaa

there was this bug with 13.1 if I remember correctly. it is fixed now so it all depends when you last updated (xbian-package-xbmc is relevant there).

https://github.com/xbianonpi/xbian/issues/553

in case you will get the update and still having some issues check please this related detailed (but user kind easy) discussion https://github.com/xbianonpi/xbian/issues/548

if still problem, don't hesitate to continue in the issue post at github or re-open in case it is closed in between.
