[RPi] Staging xbian-package-firmware (1.5.1) - CurlyMo - 28th Jan, 2015 09:47 PM

We need feedback to know if the latest xbian-package-firmware in staging is considered stable? To test, enable the staging repostory and run:
Code:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install xbian-package-firmware

When it is, we'll move it to the stable repository so all users will enjoy the upgrade as well as our automatically generated images.

And to make sure you vote on poll at top of the page here please so we know where we are. Thank you

I've tried enabling staging repositories by adding them in /etc/apt/sources.list and /etc/apt/sources.list.d/xbian.list

When I check for upgrades, I only find xbian-package-kernel. I updated that and its dependencies, but also manually trying to install xbian-package-firmware doesn't work for me. I get the messgae that it's already the latest version. How can I check which version is currently installed on my RPi?

Just to doublecheck: if I want to use staging repository, I can leave "stable" on as well right?

My etc/apt/sources.list now looks like this:
Code:
deb http://mirrordirector.raspbian.org/raspbian/ wheezy main non-free
### deb http://apt.xbian.org wheezy main
deb http://apt.xbian.org staging main
### deb http://apt.xbian.org devel main

etc/apt/sources.list.d/xbian.list looks like this:
Code:
### deb mirror://apt.xbian.org/mirror.txt      stable  main rpi-wheezy
deb mirror://apt.xbian.org/mirror.txt     staging   main    rpi-wheezy
### deb mirror://apt.xbian.org/mirror.txt     devel   main    rpi-wheezy

When I do apt-get update I get this:
Code:
Using username "root".

Yes, always leave stable enabled. If the firmware is latest, than it's ok. Just leave it Smile

New firmware has been released to all platforms.
