iPad as a remote control - moacir.ferreira - 22nd Feb, 2015 03:07 AM I have tried with no success to control xbian, running on a Raspberry pi2, using my iPad. Every service is enabled on RP-2. However, if I install a PC with Kodi and run the same enabled services on RP-2, the iPad can control it. Any hint? What am I missing? Thanks, Moacir RE: iPad as a remote control - IriDium - 22nd Feb, 2015 03:21 AM How are you trying to control XBian? Via a browser, XBMC app or Yatse or something else. RE: iPad as a remote control - rikardo1979 - 22nd Feb, 2015 05:58 AM System>Settings>Webserver (enabled)? Port - 8080 System>Settings>Remote control - enabled(both)? System>Settings>AirPlay (enabled)? RE: iPad as a remote control - moacir.ferreira - 22nd Feb, 2015 09:44 PM My XBian sets are: UPnP, all on Web server, allow control, port 8080, user xbmc, no password, default web interface Remote, all on Zeroconf, on AirPlay, allow receiving AirPlay on, no password I am using this XBMC app: https://itunes.apple.com/pt/app/official-xbmc-remote/id520480364?mt=8 As I mention, the XBMC iPad app will not find XBian. It will, however, find a Kodi installed on a old PC. I am using the defaults of the iPad app that is just clicking on "Find XBMC". Also tried to include the IP address and 8080 port, stil does not work. RE: iPad as a remote control - IriDium - 22nd Feb, 2015 10:10 PM That App works on Android. Try accessing via the browser <ip address>:8080 and see if that works. Also check that the user is xbmc as some distros use kodi. What's the IP address of the RPi and your iPad. Also can you post the output of kodi.log and dmesg via pastebin.com RE: iPad as a remote control - moacir.ferreira - 22nd Feb, 2015 11:01 PM Software XBian version: 1.0 (knockout) (kernel: Linux 3.18.7+) XBMC/Kodi version: N/A Overclock settings: Running at standard 900MHz Hardware Device type and model: Raspberry Pi 2 Power supply rating: iPad USB charger SD card size and make/type: 16GB, Kingston Network (Ethernet or wireless): Ethernet Connected devices (TV, USB, network storage, ...): TV and USB wireless keyboard/mouse Log files Link to logfile(s): http://pastebin.com/download.php?i=Pa4q5YzQ Problem description: Does not allow for iPad XBMC Remote (ofitial XBMC app from iTUnes) to manage XBian. I can, however, access the XBian web page via http://192.168.1.210:8080. I have set no password and user to xbmc as I find at the iPad app. How to reproduce: Try to controll XBian using the XBMC app ( https://itunes.apple.com/pt/app/official-xbmc-remote/id520480364?mt=8 ) RE: iPad as a remote control - moacir.ferreira - 24th Apr, 2015 11:38 PM If you face the same problem I was facing, then make sure your WiFi and network is multicast aware. Enabling multicast has solved my problem. |
