It would be interesting to know if you will have the same dropouts with 16.1.
So if you have some spare time and sd card...........

Thanks! I will sleep a lot better now Tongue

Krypton is stable enough for me so I will stick to it.
Could you point me in the proper direction. Volume control doesn't work.
As soon as I increase or decrease the volume on my (i)phone it doesn't work. Only when I decrease to a minimum the audio is muted.

Do you think this is a bluez issue? Are you familiar with this?
Thanks

I did a rollback to Kodi 16.1
Krypton audio quality is not as good as 16.1 (yet)
The audio is slightly distorted in some movies.
I am not an audio expert so I reverted back to 16.1. So no pulseaudio for me yet......

Did this happen with PA only or always?

Up to here is all I want to achieve. Can You tell me how to get there?
I successfully installed squeezelite and managed to let it use the same alsa dmix device as kodi, so they run in parallel. The problem is that squeezelite music runs too fast. It has to do with sample rates.
So, I thought, before I twiggle around with alsa, I go the recommended way of using pulse.

I installed it with
Code:
sudo apt install pulseaudio
.
Now I can start it with
Code:
pulseaudio -D
And then I can run squeezelite with
Code:
squeezelite -o pulse
using the alsa pulse input.
Same works as root:
Code:
sudo pulseaudio -D --system
sudo squeezelite -o pulse
My problems:
What's the right way of starting pulse on boot?
xbian doesn't seem to use systemd - that's the most I can find on how to autostart pulse.
And then, how can I make Kodi recognize the pulse sinks? When I start kodi after manually starting pulse, it just lists the alsa device and the internal findings, no pulse sinks.

That last post was 4 years ago, not likely to get an answer that way.

I used PA for a while on my devel system. But unfortunately I removed the PA stuff some months ago, but AFAIR it was not so complicated to get Kodi running with PA
