Movie doesnt play from mounted SMB - parslej - 9th Mar, 2013 07:10 PM

I cant play movies shared by my Windows PC

Tried both ways - browse Windows SMB shares from XBMC
also mapped share this command

Code:
mount -t cifs -o username=user,rw //192.168.1.22/D /storage/smb

it looks it plays (can see movie control buttons) but counter stopped no video displayed.
Same move plays perfectly, from same Windows box, but shared out of there via XBMC and upnp

What is wrong ??

do you have your USB devices connected through powered USB Hub ? if no that this may cause the issue as by direct USB connections you drain much power from RPi what may cause issues

also post the filetype info - use MediaInfo software to pull this out

Powered hub seems resolved an issue! Many thanks!
