Better class of the SD card is equal to better XBMC performance? - effemmeffe - 14th Mar, 2013 06:19 PM How much a different class of the SD card impacts on xbmc experience? If I buy a faster sd will I have a faster xbmc or the difference is too small to notice? Better class of the SD card is equal to better XBMC performance? - Koenkk - 14th Mar, 2013 06:24 PM I doubt if the XBMC gui is faster, you will only notice that when scrolling to your movies/music. When streaming, the sd card class also makes a big difference. Booting will also take less time Conclusion: buy a class 10 sd card RE: Better class of the SD card is equal to better XBMC performance? - effemmeffe - 14th Mar, 2013 06:30 PM but i stream from a usb disk or a network share, so the sd class doesn't make any difference, right? Re: Better class of the SD card is equal to better XBMC performance? - rikardo1979 - 14th Mar, 2013 08:03 PM it does RE: Better class of the SD card is equal to better XBMC performance? - mk01 - 16th Mar, 2013 06:50 PM I was running class 4 before, buyed class 10+ (20mb write speed tested) and the PI currently running like atv2 (a little faster). with class 4 nobody wanted to use the device before in my house. it's true with media files, but instalation (libraries + binaries + addons + skin) is almost 200-400MB. Each listed file has thumbs/fanart to load from local storage, not talking about instant changes to sqlite DB files. |
