avi file extracted from DV tape - Dave400 - 29th Apr, 2013 08:08 AM

Been trying to playback some avi files extracted from a couple of DV tapes, all I get is a blank screen .

Is there a codec available to enable playback?

to be honest, im not sure about your file format.Maybe it would be best just simply convert the file into more common codec ?

ultimately I will, until then I need to keep in this format as it's the master..

If anything once I've compiled and sorted the scene changes I'll rip that to a more usable format (instead of 85 files totalling 25Gb, just the 1 at around 1Gb) but wanted to watch the raw video before I start faffing with it..
