xbian suddenly not booting - thkoe002 - 25th May, 2013 09:04 AM

Hi all,

I have installed xbian 1.0 alpha 5 on a raspberry pi rev 2. The system was running fine for weeks until today, when the rpi crashed and since then doesn't start again.
I get no HDMI output (black screen, sometimes with a blinking cursor) and no ssh connection via ethernet (putty).

Now, does anyone know what the problem could be? I have some devices (usb ir toy, external HD) attached to the usb ports and some wiring (thermometer, transistors) connected to the GPIOs, if that is of any relevance.

Also, how can I have a look at the xbian usb partition from windows? I'd really like to copy the content of my home directory to windows before I format the SD.

Thanks, cheers

Thomas

To backup your sd you could download an ubuntu cd, and boot from this cd so you can access the partition and copy files.
