Kodi Black screen/restart
Software
XBian version: XBian 1.0 (knockout) XBMC/Kodi version: 14.2-1431026245 Overclock settings: Medium Hardware Device type and model (e.g. Raspberry Pi Model A/B 256/512 MB, CuBox-i i4Pro, ...): Raspberry Pi 2 Model B Power supply rating: 5V 2000mA SD card size and make/type: PNY 8BG Class 10 (boot) with Kingston DataTraveler 100 G3 (root) Network (Ethernet or wireless): Ethernet Connected devices (TV, USB, network storage, ...): TV Panasonic Viera and Kingston DataTraveler 100 G3 When I use this version of Kodi and I start xbian-config from the GUI or 'System info' for example I get a black screen for 1 second and then the blue Kodi desktop with the cursor in the top left corner for half a second. It seems like Kodi is restarting and this keeps repeating. I tried restarting (from SSH) and replugging everything but it made no difference. If I stop Kodi (sudo stop xbmc) I can use the Raspberry Pi with the installed packages (NZBGet, Sickrage, Couchpotato, etc.) just fine. I tried using the second to last Kodi package (14.2-1430380114) but this has the same issue. After manually downgrading to the Kodi 14.1 package there is no issue at all. I used: Terminal sudo apt-get install xbian-package-xbmc=14.1-1423177674 edit: When this happens and I leave 'top' open via SSH I see this: Terminal 3405 xbian -50 0 258m 48m 33m S 107.2 6.5 0:02.60 kodi.bin 3655 xbian -50 0 69404 19m 18m S 6.9 2.7 0:00.21 kodi.bin 3655 xbian -50 0 205m 43m 31m R 67.1 5.8 0:02.24 kodi.bin 3901 xbian -50 0 69404 19m 18m S 6.0 2.7 0:00.18 kodi.bin 3901 xbian -50 0 203m 40m 30m R 55.2 5.4 0:01.85 kodi.bin 4135 xbian -50 0 69404 19m 18m S 6.6 2.7 0:00.20 kodi.bin 4135 xbian -50 0 202m 38m 30m R 44.3 5.3 0:01.54 kodi.bin So it looks like the process is actually respawning. Edit (solved): This is fixed in 15.1-1440132163 |

RE: Kodi Black screen/restart
I tried replacing the /boot dir with the one from the XBian_2015.05.23_rpi2.img.gz and XBian_Stable_rpi2.img.gz but this didn't change antything. In was able to install all updates without any issue with the exception of Kodi 14.2-1431026245

RE: Kodi Black screen/restart
I now actually run 14.2-1427783323, using sudo apt-get install xbian-package-xbmc=14.2-1427783323
The lower resolution support is better on this version. I tried running the latest while disabling CEC but this didn't help, I also tried reply going all USB devices (which is just the USB root key) as another user somewhere else on the git with a clean image suggested. All this didn't work. |
