not being notified of add-on updates

I must have something misconfigured - since kodi v19, I'm noticing I don't get notified of available addon updates anymore, or not as reliably as I was on v18.
For Instance, in my GitHub feed, I see there's an InputStream Helper update from 2 days ago. new version 0.5.5, and I've got 0.5.4-1-matrix.
where do I look to change this? should I set xbian to auto update?

Nope, Kodi addons has absolutely nothing to do with Debian .deb packages. It is purely an internal matter for Kodi

But if there is a new package on Github announced, it doesn't mean that it has already been distributed to the addon repos everywhere.

Ah, I had thought that updates were integrated as soon as they were released...my impression of the process is incorrect then. Thanks for clarifying.
