it wasn't needed to reflash, but for the this steps you are doing fine. I'm just thinking whether after installing all the dependencies you will not end up with beta1

but yes, you will need kernel, splash, firmware and initramfs. the last named will require busybox, klibc-tools, initrd-tools.
