I also have issues with airplay. dbus is running, so is avahi. Upnp works. reinstalled xbian twice and updated it. tried removing the switch and connecting it straight to the router. i also activated multicast streams and opened all airplay related ports. what also doesnt work is the "find xbmc" feature in the xbmcRemote iOS app. this also uses zeroconf.
