update: tentatively this worked

3. echo "deb http://dikonist.asuscomm.com:82/XBian/APT/ wheezy main" >> /etc/apt/sources.list
4a. apt-get clean
4.apt-get update
5.apt-get install xbian-package-xbmc xbian-package-kernel
6.reboot
