I'd suggest that you start working on one problem first.
Have you setup WHICH device to use in XBMC-Xbian-config? Unplug ethernet and reboot with just the wifi, and see what happens. I'll try and see if I can replicate. Also please read the rules about posting an issue as detailed in my signature.
