when you are using isc dhcp client and ifplugd is making troubles, feel free to disable it. edit /etc/default/xbmc like this:

INTERFACES="none"
HOTPLUG_INTERFACES="none"
ARGS="-q -f -u0 -d10 -w -I"
SUSPEND_ACTION="none"

or disable ifplugd to load completely

sudo insserv -fr ifplugd
