[SOLVED] Yet Another IR Remote problem

I followed the Configuring a remote Tutorial closely. I am getting stuck on 3b.

When I run irrecord, it continuously asks me for "next":

KEY_NEXT

Now hold down button "KEY_NEXT".

KEY_NEXT

Now hold down button "KEY_NEXT".

If i do press <ENTER> to finish recording, irrecord does not ask about any other buttons and only KEY_NEXT is listed in ~pi/lircd.conf.

I am using a the DVR button on the Philips RC1445302 (for Verizon FiOS). I don't care what code I use, but it's currently configured for RCA DVD code 0549.

Can someone give me any ideas on how to proceed ?
