Stability issues with XBian (sporadic hangs)

In 3.9.x and 3.10.x there are issues with lirc_rpi still. This is from dmesg, when I recieve this the remote stops functioning for a random amount of time. I haven't tried the fiq kernel flag.

Why would SLUB/SLAB allocation matter?
