sync mount option can be enabled/disabled directly from xbian-config in XBMC, but the XBian default is "sync" by default for external auto mounted media. @Jingles can you please post output of "mount" command with the drives attached. also can you retest with the destination / source drives attached via powered hub? can you also test copying when the stick is formatted as ext4 OR btrfs?
