RE: After boot, visible screen is reduced to quarter of the native resolution
(11th Dec, 2013 05:05 AM)p0sti Wrote:  Some days ago my raspberry suddenly switched its display mode. It is now showing only a quarter of the available native resolution (1080p) of my TV. Tried several different options in the /boot/config.txt, none of them working. I guess it's worth noting that I've been using a different HDMI cable since a few weeks. This was however working fine for a certain amount of days and then the problem suddenly appeared. Switching to an alternative HDMI cable didn't make a difference, so I'm not certain if that's really the source of the problem.

Software
XBian version: v1.0B2
XBMC version: 12.2 (Frodo)
Overclock settings: Default

Hardware
Power supply rating: Link
RPi model (model A/B 256mb/512mb): model B
SD card size and make/type: Transcend 16 GB
Network (wireless or LAN): LAN
Connected devices (TV, USB, network storage, etc.): TV (Sony Bravia KDL 46EX500), USB hub with wireless mouse/keyboard and two external 2 TB USB drives.

Logile
Link to logfile(s): Nothing yet.

Problem description:
See above.

How to reproduce:
None. Suddenly appeared.

These are the current settings in my /boot/config.txt
Already tried some other hdmi_modes as well, without success.

Code:
#initramfs initramfs.gz  0x00a00000
gpu_mem_512=256
gpu_mem_256=128
initial_turbo=1
disable_splash=1
arm_freq=840
core_freq=275
sdram_freq=400
over_voltage=0

#hdmi_safe=1
config_hdmi_boost=4
hdmi_group=1
hdmi_mode=16
hdmi_force_hotplug=1
hdmi_ignore_cec_init=1
disable_overscan=1
hdmi_ignore_edid=0xa5000080

Attached also a photo that shows the problem on my TV.

Anything else I might try before flashing the system?

Maybe it sounds stupid but what happens when you hit the "\" or "|" key (or shift "\" or shift "|" )?
In my case these keys are close to my return key and sometimes I hit these keys I get the same result as your screenshot.
